I often spend Sunday afternoons with my knitting, watching old movies, and totally vegging. Yesterday was so-o beautiful that I just had to go out and get some new foliage pictures. My friend, Rebecca Jensen was kind enough to drive me around, patiently stopping for every photo opportunity. Here are just a few of the beautiful sights we saw between B’ville and Oswego.
The canal and Lock 24 have not closed for the season yet but traffic has certainly slowed for the second busiest lock in the New York State Canal System
This is some of the nicest foliage I have seen on the Seneca River here in Baldwinsville in several years. We don't always have sunny days during peak foliage. It's often perfect weather for lake effect showers.
I love this espaliered apple tree!! I don't know how many times I walked past it without recognizing what it was. Olive's is a wonderful place for sangria and tapas - especially on warm summer evenings when you can sit outdoors.

This is a scene that is particularly beautiful on cold mornings when the mists are rising. One of these days I’ll have to go out and shoot it at that time of day….
The old Oswego Canal near the Himmansville Bridge.
This is a good companion to the picture I got of the old canal in the wintertime just after a snow and ice storm. You should be able to see the snow scene on the website.

This building appears to be privately owned. I was amazed to find the tracks still running by it. They were all rusted and sometimes covered with grass.
