People Portraits Update, 2010
I just wanted to add a couple of portraits to the Blog.
The latest one is of Jaimilee and I just finished it last week. I think if I just keep practicing I’ll be able to, eventually, really nail them.
Here’s Jaimilee:
And here is Jaimilee with the photograph that I used for a model:
I don’t know if you can see all the guide lines I drew on the photograph but they really help to get things lined up. I used just my eye and the length of the pencil to get the proportions so they’re still not perfect. I plan to keep practicing. Anyone want to volunteer to be a model??
The following composite portrait of a mother and daughter was done in the Fall of 2009.
This drawing had a lot more detail in it but because of its size I was unable to scan it. I probably should have taken the time to get a better photograph of it. This copy was made on a large photocopy machine and is way too contrasty for my taste, but it’s all I have.
